In the interview for the newspaper "Vechirni Visti" Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine pointed out the attention on the threatening tendencies that took place in informational sphere of Ukraine after the Presidential campaign.
First of all M. Tomenko deems inadmissible the monopolization process of television and advertisement market in Ukraine that is in the possession of one finance-political group. "So-called "Inter"-expansion became a real threat", - he emphasised.
The Deputy Chairman enumerated latest cases of this sad tendency. They are: actual dismissal of two members of the National Council by the court judgment after the suit of one of "Inter" group channels that caused blocking of the work of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting Matters, appointing o the offices on the First National Channel that actually transforms the activity of the state channel into the activity of one of the channels belonging to "Inter" group; completion of the destroying of "Megasport" television sport channel and its transforming into the gambling channel "Mega." The latter is extremely actual in the framework of the latest appeals of the present power which stated that it is necessary Ukraine possess a sport channel before EURO", the politician emphasised. Though, the most dangerous according to M. Tomenko is "active intervention of the Security Service of Ukraine into the activity of National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting Matters."
